R52 Sprint Booster
Anybody have this device on their gas pedal? Does it affect your shifting on an automatic transmission?
I've heard good things about them. However, I've also heard that JCW cars don't need them or won't benefit from them because their throttle response is already quicker from the factory.
Note: It's an electronic device and does not attach to the gas pedal.

It doesn't matter if you have a Sport Mode, ECU software, or 'Chip' on your car, Sprint Booster works independently of other modifications. It simply makes the throttle more sensitive.

In my opinion it's a waste of money full throttle is still full throttle all your changing is the amount of fuel demanded at various pedal angles. I.E. 15% pedal demand now equates to 20% at the throttle body.

The primary function of the Sprint Booster is to provide a more immediate and direct feeling of connection between the gas pedal and the engine. More like what one might expect from a pedal connected directly to the butterfly.
And it can help speed up the actions like blipping the throttle for down shifts and the like. It's really a personal preference thing.
Once upon a time, my girlfriend and I both had VW busses. Her's had the stock 1600 motor. Mine had a highly modified 2.0 liter 914 motor. The difference between the two with respect to throttle response was dramatic. On her's (out of gear), you had to push the pedal nearly to the floor to get full rpms. On mine, I could hit redline with maybe 25% throttle. It was a bit tricky to get used to, but once you did, those who drove it loved it. And it made quick downshifts much easier. I remember when I first loaned her my bus to drive to college, she was almost terrified of it, but after a while, she didn't want to give it back to me.

I have had mine for over 6 months. I can live without it but do not want to!
I keep mine in "sport mode" 99% of the time and it just makes the car feel more responsive and easy to drive.
This product does not make any claims "that i have read" that it makes your car faster!
with a 30 day no hassle return policy. I do not understand for all the nay sayers.
