I purchased a dry panel drop in filter (AfE) from Defenders of Speed for 57.00. It's awesome. You can get the cleaner from them as we'll for about 12 bucks. Sound is a bit more throatier and seems quicker. Combine with the NM Torque arm insert and you will live it. Got the Torque Arm insert from Way. Good folks both! Happy motoring!

Save up and get the complete intake. We've dyno tested the DDM intake for the R56 non S and we had an 8ft lb torque gain at the wheels so we know it really works, and when you drive it the sound is awesome.

 

Way what if one doesn't want to use a "cleanable" Filter? Living in the PNW does not make for a good fit with a K&N Filter, had one on another vehicle, you always had to have an extra one "clean" and dry during the Winter months.

I would definitely save up and buy the intake. With that being said, I am getting a free K&N filter so I will be utilizing the drop in route for now! Free mods are free mods. That freed up some money to either do some more final prep to Otis (R50 weekend warrior) or to install some springs on Lucius (my new R56 Baker Street edition)

Well, I ended up with the DDM intake after all. As nice free would have been, a buddy of mine had one in his shop that he sold to me at a ridiculous blowout price. If I have time today, I will throw it on and let you know what I think. I ran the drip in yesterday, however, and the response seemed better than OEM (HOWEVER SLIGHT) And it is definitely louder
