HK Radio FM Reception

Hi all, I have a 2003 Cooper, with the HK radio option. I few years back, I noticed that my FM radio reception is bad. I remember it being clear before that, but now, even local FM stations have static. I have not modified anything, no radio transmitting devices or new electrical components installed on the car.

Do you guys have any clues? I'm suspecting that the antenna line is severed somewhere between the radio and the actual antenna on the roof.

Thanks for your help.

Have you checked behind the dash to make sure its fully connected ?? These cars bump around a lot on the road and 10 years later it can become loose.

Thanks for your response. Do you have any particular area behind the dash you are referring to? I'm just hoping it's somewhere easily accessible. I'd prefer not to take apart my entire dashboard.

Where the antenna is attached to the HK stereo. You MIGHT be able to reach it by removing glove box. Reasonably easier than a full stereo pull. Haha. Good luck !!
