As I drive my MINI to work each day, I find there's certain corners and driving conditions that just make my day. I'm on sidestreets and backroads mostly....seldom on the highway. Lots of broad, sweeping curves.

One of my favorite spots is a T intersection which connects at a weird angle practically creating a hairpin. If the light is green and there's no other cars coming I sure can have fun whipping through there. (Note: I have been publicly accused of being easily amused.)

I also have one very hard right (w/o a light) on a country road...I love to practice hitting that curve at the right trajectory and at just the right rpms. Today that corner was a bit wet...I punched it slightly and the back wheels came out just a bit before the car self-corrected...what fun! Again, I only do this when no other cars are near.

Its only a moment or two when I can "play" now and again...and its right on my route. Got any favorite spots of your own???

I, too, live in the city.... but there can still be plenty of MINI moments. Most come from nimbly zipping in and around traffic. Sitting in rush hour is for suckers

Other than that, there's a really killer right-hand turn going into my apartment complex that has a laid brick covering; If I hit that just right with no cars around I can lose some traction and 4-wheel drift around the thing, big big fun.

I'm guilty of this.

My commute is suburban/semi-urban. There are several turns that I take advantage of to practice my heel/toe action in going down into 2nd gear. Let me just say that it's a lot harder to heel/toe in dress shoes going to/from work than it is to heel/toe in sneakers on the weekend!

I also go out of my way to take curvy roads, although there aren't as many as I'd like around here.

When I take my daughter to school, the route I take has two wonderfull S turns. No matter what kind of mood I'm in going into the turns, I'm a happy camper as I come out of them. The fun thing to do is to let the cars in front of me get aways ahead before the turns and time it so that I catch up to the them at the end.

My commute is a blast everyday! I go from Hemet Ca to Palm Springs Ca. In the middle is a road called lamb's canyon. It is twisty anf dun, even when there's traffic. I love the fact that I can go 85-90 on the twisties and still not feel a lot of body roll. It's great!

Best mini moment - yesterday, merging onto the I10 west, corvertte takes right side lane and I take left, I know he's going to want to outrun me so I fall back and motion for him to take the lead; he then flips me off. Thinking I'm going to get angry... Ha ha dude. Once on the freeway I quickly changed lanes and got beside him and just laughed. He proceeds to flip me off again, and i still just laughed then i moved into the fast lane and left him behind.

I used to live in DC and I commuted from Georgetown to my former wonderful job at the Discovery channel in Silver Spring MD, and took the rock creek pkwy. Lots of small windy roads, and a roundabout- quite a bit of fun! Unless of course you get behind someone who is intent on taking their sweet time.

If I look out my living room window, I can see my workplace...as such, I have a very short commute. I could walk every day (about a five minute walk) but the power of the MINI calls to me!

I have one 100 mph S that is great
I can see for miles and miles ,front ,back ,no one around going hard is fun
no one but me there
then there's the 60 mph curves that are 1/4 block from where I turn off
down shift ,down shift ,down shift
turn at 25 mph,right
