Hey guys, I've had a wet top on my non-pressurized hose for a while now, but never had leak until recently. With that said, I tried reclamping the top reservoir connection, but the puddle is still showing up on the garage floor. I'm sure the leak is probably somewhere else,(hopefully not the pump). Anyway, it can't hurt to change 10 year old hoses, so I'm going to go ahead and replace both PS hoses this weekend. I already have the proper fluid. The dealer did gave me screw clamps, while the ones on the car currently are a crimp-type clamp. They also gave me two metal washer-type pieces, which I'm not sure what they're for yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out as I go. the pressurized hose didn't come with any kind of clamps, so I'm guessing they connect in some other manner. Is it possible to change these without removing the pump? Anything else to look out for? Thanks as always.

 

I'm pretty sure you have to drop the subframe to get one of the hoses off the steering rack.

 

The two washers are for the banjo fitting connecting the highpressure line to the steering rack. Both return and high pressure line are a PITA to change, I did both mine when I change my lower control arm bushings, so having the subframe dropped helped alot. We did try to change the high pressure pre subframe drop but could not get a ratchet or wrench in there with enough room to get it off. (the banjo bolt is torqued in there good...) So my suggestion would be drop the subframe and change out LCA bushings, ball joints, steering rack bushings etc while doing this to make it more productive, but the whole subframe deal is not fun. Its probably possible to change both without doing it, but I personally didnt try to hard before moving on to the subframe.

 

Oh man. I have the same issue but I think the leak is coming from the bottom of the power steering reservoir. Keep us updated man!
