Difficulty Using USB/iPod Interface

This may prove to be the mammary question of the week (if not of all time), but I'm finding it extremely difficult trying to understand how the USB/iPod interface navigates in my new Clubman S ? Even after reading the manual a few times, I'm at a complete loss as to how one goes about accessing music categories and other functions. Is it me, or is the MINI interface difficult to figure out ?

Do you have MINI Connected?

The iPhone/USB interface on my 2009 Clubman S is very clumsy.

No. Just the standard radio with USB/iPod connectivity.
