Moving to Los Angeles, California!
Heyyyooo everyone! Been on this forum for years now and I need any input I can get! I live in Houston right now but as of this upcoming Tuesday I will be moving to Los Angeles (Reseda) and am going to need some good mechanics to get work done when I need it! I do most of it myself but some stuff I don't wanna mess with! At first I was a bit worried I wasn't gonna find anyone but then I remembered about NAM! And hints about places to go and places to not go would be great! Thanks everyone and hope you all have a great New Years! Hope to meet some of you out in LA sometime soon!

Hey Matt!
The most active local club is SCMM. They're an older crowd (35+) but still have pretty good events!
Good local places I've found to take care of Pip are:
-MINI World in Sun Valley
They do $75 oil changes and all service, they also have great prices on repairs. They also have a large selection of used parts and use factory parts in repairs and service. Awesome customer service and great guys!
-Steve's Auto Clinic in North Hills.
They're a bit of a drive for me but Steve is AWESOME! He was the only person I could find in LA who could install the outmotoring oil pressure tap for my gauge on my N18. Man, he is super knowledgeable and one of the best guys you'll ever meet. Steve has a lot of classic cars so he knows how to treat your baby properly. The vinyl I have on my car can't be touched by greasy garage hands or it will stain and be ruined. I mentioned this to Steve and he instantly started yelling to his garage guys to cover the entire front end up so the vinyl wouldn't be touched. He treated my car exactly as I would; not even the dealerships do that. Really great prices too!
-Universal MINI in Burbank and Crevier MINI in Santa Ana have been great to me dealership-wise. MINI of Monrovia, not so much. MINI of Ontario hosts a lot of SCMM events and are also a great dealership probably a little closer to you.
-MINICorsa in Burbank.
Don't let their flashy website suck you in. I went there and was treated like a total a**hole. I have nothing good to say about them. They wanted over $300 to install my oil pressure tap (Steve wanted $125).
-LTMW in El Monte.
Also a great bunch of guys. They're a little on the expensive side and specialize in performance BMWs but they definitely know their way around a MINI particularly the '01-'10 models.
They saw me and ignored me when I pulled up and I had to make an effort to get their attention although they were just sitting in the office doing nothing with no customers. They were whipping my car around trying to get it in and out of the garage as fast as possible as if it were a race to see how quickly they could pull in and out (again, no other customers). Also, when they whipped my car out of the garage after I said that I was going to go somewhere else to get it installed, they left it in the parking lot running, in neutral and without the parking brake on, yeah the ground was level in that particular spot but why be so careless? They also left giant dirty hand prints that took over two months to get rid of on the driver door, by the license plate, and on the bonnet. You'd think these d*cks were running a dump truck shop the way they treat their customers cars.
Hope that helps a little!

Awesome! That is a great start for me! Thanks a ton! Super excited to be in the area and around all the great Minis! But as much as mine breaks I'm going to be needing parts soon lol
