I have a MCS, and want to spray Seafoam into the PCV valve. I have a feeling that its the mesh pipe the connects to the engine at the top left (facing the car). I just want to be sure before I spray it into a wrong area. Also do I spray it into the hose or where the hose connects to?
I see three hoses. Two meshed. Is it the bigger meshed one, and not the tiny one?
Also when I remove the pcv hose, in which direction do I spray the seafoam into? Into the hose?
It is the large mesh one right in the middle between the airbox and the coldside intake tube. The one with the clip attached to the corner of the valve cover.
Thanks for this video. I was gonna Seafoam my sons 2009 Mini Cooper but no other videos show the vacum hose in that location. I was going to pour into it but wasn't 100% sure. Now I am.
My repair manual shows another crank case hose on the right side of the motor also but my engine doesn't seem to have the same setup. Manual shows pics of MK II engine which is correct, but there is no large hose on the driver side like in there picture. So where exactly is the CPV valve located on this motor. I originally thought that's where the Seafoam would go. Anyway I now see that it goes on the opposite end. When I put the Seafoam into the proper hose, where does it circulate through? I didn't know if it would mix with the oil in the pan or not. I'm not due a oil change and wasn't sure if I would have to change the oil after.
The PCV valve itself is integrated into the valve cover. You can't actually see it.
So when I'm facing the car, the braded covered hose that I detached at the back left side of the valve cover, you are saying the intergraded CPV valve is located right there inside the valve cover?
If that's correct, can I ever change just CPV valve?
I blocked it off when I put on my CAI because I didn't know what it went to. hahaha. We let it just flow into the engine bay, then later put a plug in it. 20k miles...no troubles. I need a catch can!
