First ride of 2013

All it is time to get our first ride in for 2013. I am thinking one of the last weekend in Jan. however, I need some help. I will set it up but I need some ideas of what we want to do. Please give me some ideas of where you would like to take a ride. It can be as simple as a meet up some where and talk minis or a ride somewhere. Give me some ideas and I will take it from there. We will hope for good weather and get our first mini ride in.

Let me know

Thanks
Ray

I have been wanting to go to the Forney Museum of Transportation http://www.forneymuseum.org/ closed on Sundays.

Anything on Wheels!
Antique Cars, Locomotives, Buggies, Bicycles, Motorcycles,
Rare & Exotic vehicles, and more...

It looks like they have a GTO exhibit going until the end of January.
"Pontiac Muscle" The GTO - 1964 to 1974

After the museum we can head over to "GB Fish and Chips" for some Bangers and Mash and watch Arsenal beat Manchester United at football

Hitting the transportation Museum and a follow up at the pub for lunch sounds fun. This would be more of a MINI event/get together than a ride but it could be fun. We have the Icicle Rallye coming in Feb so may be a get together will be good. I am looking at 19 Jan and will work some more details once I contact the museum and pub. More to come....

OK, we are getting 2013 started. Not so much a ride but an adventure. We will meet up at Forney Museum of Transportation, 4303 Brighton Blvd, Denver, 19 Jan at 1000am to tour through the museum that has everything on wheels. Around 1130-1200 we will head over to a British Pub (with our little British cars), GB Fish & Chips, 5325 E. Colfax for lunch. You are certainly welcome wear British attire.

Families are welcome at both stops. I am working a group discount at the museum. Please sign up so I can provide a head count.

I called in the numbers for the museum and GBs. Here is the run down.

1. Museum - Meet up at 1000. We are get a group discount so it is $7 for adults and $3 for under 12 years old. Parking. They have parking next to the museum. They said that just tell the parking attendant you are there for the museum and the parking is free. They said no bags, purses, camera bags in the museum. They have had problems with theft. Cameras are OK just not bags.

2. GBs Fish & Chips - Meet there at 1200. There are all set for us. The place is small but they assured me that they will take care of us. They do not have a parking lot. They suggested we park on the side streets of Glencoe St or Grape St.

See ya there. Ray

Thanks to all that came out today, especially those of you from out of town.

Here is a link to my photos from today, it was a train day for me.
Forney Museum / GB Fish & Chips

That GB Fish & Chips is cozy with a nice collection of British memorabilia and a quirky little Mod antique shop attached/next door.

The football match that was on the television was West Ham United against the Queens Park Rangers, it ended as a tie.

Here is a picture of my Chicken Curry Pasty and Chips.

Had a good time at the museum.
Any chance I can get one of you to put together some words on the trip for the February newsletter?
