nice.
at one point i "defended" the stock (non-hk speakers) but now i've reversed my opinion and think they're pretty darn bad. i'm looking forward to an option here.

Update?

Anyone know if this has happened / is still planned to happen? R60s aren't listed on the IA webpage. Thinking of getting my wife a CM, but considering the option to plunk down $$ on the IA system or just order the HK.

The standard and HK systems are both horrid, really cheap and nasty, only a fool would upgrade to the HK system. I changed all the standard speakers in mine with a set of speakers from Focal and an amp, all for less than the HK upgrade and significantly better sound.

I have the HK in my 2013 JCW CM and I think it sounds fantastic for a stock system. I only use my iPod with everything ripped in lossless format.

I had the Intergal Audio system in my ’09 FJCW with the Soundstage, I was one of the first to have the full package from Kevin and it was fantastic. I installed it days before leaving for MOTD12 and most that heard it there freaked out.

Im really curious why you say the HK system is horrid in the CM?? I am very into music/sound and have B&W speakers for home use so I know what’s good and what’s not good. Again, I’m just curious as to why you didn’t like the HK in the Countryman. I have heard it in an R56 and R58 and it did sound pretty bad but the CM just blew me away for OEM.

Not trying to start anything here...lol, just curious.. :-)

KiwiRob rips everything about the Countryman. Me thinks he just likes to hear himself talk.

He's a troll. Nothing important to say ever, just a lot of negativity being spewed. Ignore him.

Kiwi robs reputation is far from respected on this board. Thus making everything he says being worthless. The HK sound system us outstanding especially considering the size if the space it fills

You can **** on my posts all you like but the HK system used by MINI and in 1 & 3 series BMW's is junk, it's better junk that the standard setup but still not worth the money spent adding it as an extra. What I did is similar to what this company offers, as there System 3 but I also changed the speakers in the rear doors as well, to the same as the front doors. This blows the doors off the HK system, and was no more expensive.

I'm not the only person here who thinks the HK system is overpriced junk. It's a cheap set of speakers and an amp upgrade, HK's home audio equipment isn't all that great, what makes anyone think they can make decent car audio?

The HK sounds good to me and also seems to sound good to others, If it sounds like junk to some people then don't get it.... it's that simple. $500 is nothing these days especially when it's a $40 to $45k car… heck I drove off the lot and trashed the Runflats for normal tires.... RFs are more like JUNK to me...:-)
