Multiple numbers per contact in Phonebook

This thing is killing me

I have successfully paired my Android with Mini's Bluetooth service (CD Boost, no visual, no NAV), but the car's Phonebook shows an endless list where each contact is repeated along its related phone numbers (home, work, mobile), as opposed to the Phone, that treats each contact as a single register and then let you choose between several numbers associated to it.

I cannot figure if this is the result of a limitation from the Car (Mini/BMW), the Phone or Android

Does anyone have a Phonebook with only a single register per contact but with different numbers related to each contact?

Thank you and Greetings from Chile !

I did in my 2012. To get around that I programmed the voice dial by saying for example...

"dial name" then
"mom home" or "mom office"
each command went to a specific number.

To program voice dial you say
"save name"
then say the name, etc.

Good luck!

Hi amancuso. You mean in your car you DO have a single record per contact and multiple numbers on each record? When you scroll through the PhoneBook you have

Mom
John

or

Mom Office
Mom Mobile
John Home
John Mobile
.....

On the radio display it would just show
Mom

No differentiation. Which is why I just used the voice dial commands.
