SD Card for Mission Control / Camden Edition?

Anyone have one that they don't use? I would be interested in buying it so long as its in good shape. Trying to replace a lost one from the Camden Edition we have. . PM me if you have one to send. Thanks !

With a VIN your local MINI Dealership Parts Dept should be able to assist. A new Mission Control unit is just a bit over $100, not installed. Good luck.

All:

The local dealer is telling me that the kits (sd card and glove box insert) may be discontinued. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even a copy on an SD card would work. Happy to compensate someone for the card itself, and the time for making a copy.

I'm even happy to PayPal someone some money for uploading the content to my FTP site. Let me know!

Hi everyone,

New member and love the forum. Learned so much about my new mini here.

Just picked up a 2010 Mini Camden Edition, and of course the SD card with the Starship content for the Mission Control system was lost.

Went to the Mini dealer in my area and they told me this part has been discontinued and they will not be able to get for me. At this point it's looking like I will not be able to get the Mission Control up and running in my Mini.

Would anyone here have the files and be able to forward them to me?

Thx

Seem to indicate they have it for 10 euros. No connection with whoever they are!

Thx guys that's a lot of info.

Checked the estore site, but they want 26 euros to ship it out to Canada.

The txt config file looks fairly straight forward in how each of the mp3 files are called for a particular function.

Now I just need the MP3 files. I'm assuming I can copy the mp3's and txt file to a standard SD card and things should work.

Don't need the full retrofit kit, since the Mission Control module is already installed on the car.

Strange that BMW would not at lest make the files available for those who have the option installed.

You are welcome.

Looks like they are NLA worldwide. Those other sites might be out of date.

If you have mission control already ( missing SD card only ) all you need is an SD card and the file for it, which is above. That's all the info I have. The names of the files are there, I don't know if you can track them down.

For people who want the Mission Control , they will need the kit which comes with the glove box unit and the MINI SD card itself. Linked above.

Thanks again.

Ok, I had assumed that the MP3 files were also on the SD card.

I'll copy the config file to an SD card and insert it into the slot in the glove box.

Hopefully that will get me up and running.

Thanks a lot.

Actually it does look like the MP3 files are located on the SD Card

Followed one of the link provided and found this in the first post.

Mission Control CAN be modified.. Very, very, easily.

The files are obviously located on the SD Card in the secret compartment. I popped it out, plugged it into the computer and there are 2 folders. "Test" and "Missions". The "Missions" directory has 1321 mp3 files in it. I dropped them all into a playlist in iTunes. Played a lot of them to figure out what they were. Each one shares a similar name with others for the same situation in the car. For example, all the files relating to Auto Air-Conditioning might be named something like caf01, caf02, caf03, etc.. Cruise control might be crh01, 02, etc..

Basically it's just as simple as finding the file you want to change or remove, and replace it with another mp3 file named the same way. They aren't encrypted, locked, or anything like that. The length doesn't seem to matter either.

So anyhoo, I've only changed a few of the responses so far. I'm trying to make everything just a touch more serious.. There are several built-in response I'm leaving the same, most really, but a couple where I'll trim out a bit of the banter. For the most part, I enjoy what they've done.

Try it yourself, and enjoy!
Is there anyone who can provide me the contents of the 2 directories mentioned above?

Yea, I posted the file names and some code for the file in the link above. The actual sound files are on the SD card. Maybe they can be found by searching the web. I don't know how to get those. This is all the info I could gather.
I guess you could insert your own mp3 files, using the hack link, and use the mapping for the SD. Possible? If someone has the Mission Control SD card and can post the mp3 files that would also help.

No problem, just wanted it for reference so we have all the info, since the SD card itself is NLA.

Thanks

minigen - 9/2009+ R55 R56 R57 model , you could try to mod it for the pre, but I believe there was a wiring change, thus the year cutoff.

We have some starship command SD card in the Retrofit kit for MINI Camden editions. Not sure if this can be retrofitted into other cars then MINI Camden. I guess worth a shot. For the price its worth it for the card. looks like its installs into the CD driver cable. 09/2009+ R55 R56 models according to the etk.
