That is your cars motor mount, cant really tell whats wrong with it as im on a mobile device. Can you tell us whats wrong?

Right side upper motor mount. It looks like its torn. You can replace it with an OEM mount like you have or go with something stronger that you'll never have to replace again like the TSW mount. Go to waymotorworks.com to see your options. I have the TSW in mine and I love it.

 

If look closely the motor mount is leaking oil and it looks like a rope somehow got tangled. I really don't know how to explain it. You can see it in picture two more clearly.

 

Yes, it's hydraulic fluid leaking out of your motor mount. It's failed and needs to be replaced. Refer to my previous post.

It's the motor mount. And it appears to me to be aftermarket and it looks weird. Probably screwed up. Simply replace it with either OEM (hopefully they're better now) or a good aftermarket mount.

Drive it very little and very easily until it's replaced.

 

You're not going to Hirt anything driving it this way. That's an OEM mount BTW. Some years were covered with a silver canister and some not. I don't want to quote years when I'm not positive what they were. It's obviously a first gen though.

it's an early r53 engine mount.

get a TSW engine mount from Way Motor Works or the Vibratechnics one and call it a day.

And while you are it, might as well replace/reinforce upper engine mount, transmission mount and lower mount with the powerflex insert (if the rubber is not torn).

while it may or may not add a little bit of tolerable NVH, it won't have to be replaced like the stock ones.

 

Thats an 02-04 mount (I think). They changed to the metal canister style in 05.

To the OP: its really not hard to replace. It just takes a little bit of time if you're not familiar with doing this sort of work.

 

That's why I didn't post years, lol. I have an 04 and mine was a metal canister. I'm thinking more like 02-03 but not sure. In any case, it's stock.

Hey, some people can be brutal on here when you post incorrect facts. That's why I avoid it unless I'm sure. LOL!!! It doesn't bother me though, I thought the same as you but I think the style changed between 03-04. I'M NOT POSITIVE THOUGH!

 

I'm guessing that you're right and it changed in MY 04...and I just ignore the people that try to degrade you for being wrong. I have been wrong more times than I can count. How else do you learn?

Yes that is def the motor mount fluid. Many people don't realize that those early mounts were also oil filled. Thanks for posting pics many people will be surprised to see it.

I suggest replacing it with one of our Poly engine mounts, that way it will last longer and help transfer engine power to the ground.
