R50/53 Oil Catch Can 2004 MCS
Nice choice of OCC but I have a suggestion.
Relocate it to a cooler location. Any fluids inside will boil off back into vapor and just travel down the system as it would have before.

Whereabouts should I relocate it to
It's in the diagram you posted...
Some put it infront of upper engine mount

Have seen them inside the cubby area where the ABS modules/lines are too. Opposite side of that wall you mounted it to. May have to cut two holes to send lines thru.

Yeah, factory alarm uses that stud in the bottom pic....But if that is where you prefer, you could still mount it on the other end of that same cubby. There is plenty of room there and will not be in the way.
Mine is mounted in the same spot. I think you'll be ok if you have the heat sheild still or your header is wrapped (whichever you have). You can always touch the catch can after a hard run or after parked to see how hot it may get.

ya heat sheild is there.. is yours hooked up the same way.. do you see much collection?
If you mean where it's mounted now, heat shield or not it is too hot there for the OCC (by the coolant tank).
Anything collected inside will heat up, turn into vapors and just get sucked in anyways.
