I just want to know if anyone ever put the aftermarket wheels by yourself. Do you need to blance them before put them on?

If tires have not already been mounted and balanced on the new rim- your gonna need a wheel machine to mount the tires- in which case bring them to a shop and get some help - this usually doesn't cost too much.

If you purchased from a place like Tire Rack- and bought wheels and tires- then they come mounted and balanced and you can bolt them right on (just like changing a tire)

I guess the short answer to your question is- Yes, one way or the other the wheels need to be balanced prior to installation otherwise yer gonna get the shakes

hope this helped-

yes, depending on the style/brand of wheel and the offset, you will likely need hubcentric rings and perhaps some spacers if the wheels are not OEM or an OEM direct fit.

Definitely get them balanced with the new wheels go on.

Your wheel salesperson should know exactly what will be needed to fit your car, and if they don't, shop elsewhere.

http://www.tirerack.com is a great source if you are not already looking there

Yes, be sure to order Hubcentric rings with your wheels. When I bought mine I ordered wheels and tires from separate places. I was able to take the wheels and tires to just about anyplace local and get the all mounted and balanced for $50.
