Sparco seats and steering wheel extension

I've seen a few people with the Sparco Evos in their Mini. Was it a tough install? Do the weight sensors freak out or anything or how do you get around that stuff. Also I'm trying to find a hub extension to bring the steering wheel closer. Even with the telescopic wheel, I don't like it's limited range and was wondering if anyone has fitted something like this.

You can bypass the airbag warning on the seats I just don't know how to. Search it you should be able to find out. Steerinh Wheel extension, do you have a picture of what you are talking about.

I was thinking something like this:

I know there are universal spacers/extensions, but I was wondering if any one has one and what issues they may have had. I'm trying not to be a guinea pig.

I would get something with a good return policy and buy one. Also get some wire extensions for the airbag. That might work.

Did you end up getting the steering wheel extension kit?

I've installed Sparco Evo seats in my R56 along with Schroth 6-point harnesses. You should NOT use the stock seatbelts with the Evo seats for safety reasons!!! The seats are not difficult to install. I would just call it time consuming, but not necessarily "hard". I thought taking out my front subframe was more challenging of a DIY job. Most others have used the Brey Krause brackets but I used VAC Motorsports parts instead to interface with my Schroth 6-point. Grade A stuff!

The airbags are easy to defeat with a 2.2-2.3ohm resistor, but it's the seatbelt sensor, seat position sensor, and passenger occupancy sensor that I never got around to ironing out. If there is a fault in any one of these items the airbag light will trigger and can only be reset by a BMW diagnostics tool. My light is on, and I really don't have much initiative to fix it. Yes, it's a red light, but the safety system still works fine. That's coming straight from a BMW techs mouth. If you're really gung ho about killing the light, by all means spend the many hours attacking it.

Regarding the steering wheel extension, if you find a talented local fabricator they can figure out a way to make an extension.

You'll have a hard time finding someone to make you a hub extension while keeping your airbag...
