How to set Horn Notification or Beep When Locking Doors?

Does anyone know how to set the horn to blow or car to beep to let you know the doors have locked?

Good question. Under "Setting Confirmation Signals" my manual shows being able to select hazard warning flashers, acoustic signal, or both hazard warning flashers and acoustic signal for locking/unlocking. When I actually try to set the function, the only option available is the hazard warning flashers. Apparently the acoustic signal function is not available on my 2013 Roadster. Anybody know why?

I am not 100% on this but I believe you have to have the security system for the acoustic signal

It's in the owners manual but if you don't have the factory alarm option then you can't enable that function.

I tried adding a piezzo buzzer to the fuel door locker solenoid as told in other threads here. It kinda worked but the door lock clunk was still louder so I took the buzzer out. Also the buzzer would still chime when a barn door was open so I really did not know if the car was locked.

Makes sense because I don't have the security system. You would think the manual would tell you that but I guess I am asking too much for a MINI manual to actually be complete, helpful, and not confusing. No wonder we need forums like NAM.
