Wind noise

To all the coupe owners that have wind noise, mini has come out with new weather stripping that supposed to care of it. I will find out if it works hopefully tomorrow when I pick her up.

I didn't realize it was that big of an issue?

Let us know how that goes, please take a picture of it if you can so we can see what's different about it.

Thanks

It's not really, really annoying to me, but it is a bit irritating to always have the wind whistling next to my left ear.

Cruzer, do you think you could get part numbers for these new weatherstrips, please? I'd love to be armed with that info when I step in to my dealer's service department.

I will let you know Monday when I get the car back. They found an upper strut mount failing.

Great. I am glad I waited to get this fixed then if they have finally done something about it that is systematic.

Agreed with glen - it's nice to see a proper attempt at fixing the noise.

Thanks, Cruzer!

Here are a couple pics of the new trim. It's definitely different but may b hard to tell from pics. The tsb actually has not been released yet. I guess I'm a guinea pig!

Took delivery of my 2013 Coupe S this past Monday and I really haven't noticed much wind noise (windows up or down). Actually, I think it is better than my 2011 MCS and WAY better than my 2005 MCS was in that regard.

Loving the Coupe!

I have never noticed any wind noise at all. My car was one of the first JCW's delivered on the West Coast. It's been trouble free. I took delivery a year ago. That's too bad because Wind noise and squeaks are a pain in the neck and sometimes hard to remedy.

I wish I could say my justa is trouble free but since I bought it at the end of may its been in the shop for 18 days. If I known the justa was going to be like this I would have bought the s for sure!

Cruzer, both the turbos and Justas have their issues just as much as any car like a Genesis, GTIs, and others. It's bound to happen sometimes, you'll be fine.

On my car, they replaced the molding on the passenger side only. Now both sides have the wind noise at speeds over 80 mph.

I'm going to revive this thread. Any updates on the new weatherstrip? Did it work for you, Cruzer?

My wind noise is becoming increasingly irritating. I may have to make a weekend trip to the dealer soon, but the more info I can bring with me, the better!
