Greetings MINI folk. Quite awhile back, there was a rally style MINI that showed up. It was red and white. There was some threads on it and pictures shared. Can't remember who created it or where to find it. Tried a search but came up with zilcho. Can anyone remember that far back, or have any info on it, where it's running (races, class of races, etc.), any pics, and pretty much anything else. It may have been as far back as a year ago. Any input or leads would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Rear wheel steering!

 

Maybe he means that PIAA car with the huge bank of rally lights? I haven't seen that pic for a long time.

That second pic looks like the rear wheel's way outta whack rear wheel steering hummm....

They show the races on the Speed Channel. Pretty cool stuff ... skinny studded tires digging into the ice, rear wheels steer in the same direction as the fronts at small angles, but turn opposite the fronts at large angles. Sort of like the 4WS system on the late 80's Prelude.

 

Thanx Andy for those pics. Interesting car with the rear wheel steering. Looking pretty cool. Will have to look that one up to see about some more info on the car.
But JDS is correct. There was a rally style MINI with a large bank of lights molded into the car, set up for rally. But there's no entries for MINI in the WRC. So I'm wondering what happened to it, where it races, if it's still in operation, some pics on it, and so forth.
I'm not sure which tuner shop or individual modded out that MINI. But it was like a year or so ago that it popped up outta the woodwork.

I'm tellin' y'all...it was that PIAA MINI. The "large bank of lights moulded into the car" reference is a dead givaway. It was being displayed at a show if I'm not mistaken. I was looking for pics this afternoon but didn't stumble onto any. Sorry....
