OEM Coolant Color and Spark Plugs??

Guys,

Would you pros know what's the color of the oem coolant in a 2004 Mini Cooper (base model) is? I would like to top it off and would have to use only tap water... The current color of my coolant in my Mini is sort of clear yellow.. It's not purple, pink, blue or even green...

Also, where do you guys buy your oem NGK spark plugs from? Stealership wanted $20.19 per plug, ouch!.

Thank you,

J

Oem coolant is blue....
sold at bmw/mini.
It is a bit of a hybird...one company does make a drop in replacemnt, but cannot remember the brand/name. But with a flush, a std non orange coolant should be fine. Bmw/mini does sell the coolant for an ok price of about $20.
Sparkplugs can be found in lots of places, imo stick to ngk, but i switched to a iridium tiprather than the multi electrode...many vendors here has r50 plugs thst match the oem (minus the bmw/mini name on the insulator ).

Dealer told me that I can use Prestone or BMW with my current coolant, but never to use the orange, red or anything related to Dexcool product.

Yup....second that.
Mini/bmw coolant is NOT long life....this is often overlooked....so this makes the cooling system THE most overlooked mx item on a mini. Mineral free water is best, so distilled is a good thing to use...well water, no way, and tap water is iffy...dependd how "HARD"it is.....if you have a slow leak (thermostat, tank on the S , or a rad leak), and you find yousekf topping off till repair, then just premix some coolant with distilled water, and check some am when tge car is cold....and look for the tellrale signs of dry coolant around a leak.
