Unusual look to me

I friend of mine spotted this MINI in Shreveport, LA and asked what Kind it was. Need help identifying it, I believe it may be a special edition but couldn't find a picture quite like anywhere. Closest thing I found was a European model that was similar. So If any one can identify it let me know.

It looks like a stock PW/B Cooper S Hardtop to me just like this one which, I believe, is a 2003:

As far as I can tell, you picture is different from mine in:
-Different wheels
-No bonnet stripes
-Xenon lights

Your picture looks like it might be a 2005. In one of the later years of the R53 they did some sort of "facelift" I'm not 100% sure what all was changed but I thought the center bump in the hood changed somehow.

EDIT:
Here's another 2005 that looks pretty much the same as yours with different wheels:

European models did not come with marker lights on the four corners. It is possible that those were added to the car but doubtful. I do not see anything with the car that makes it look unusual. What are you seeing in the picture that you find different? It looks like a standard first generation R53 to me.

I spotted a odd looking new MINI at costco the other day.. with manufactuer plates... and a german registration sticker. It looked tricked out with JCW stuff.

I took a picture on my phone.. but dont know how to post it.

(BTW Mini USA headquarters is nearby)

I have nothing to say. Just want to be part of the thread since it's destined for the NAM Hall Of Fame.

I saw that red Mini IN PERSON. It had MANUFACTURER plate on boot. I never said it had GERMAN PLATES. It had a GERMAN window registration sticker. I took a photo. I uploaded photo.

If you guys see MINIs with MANUFACTURER plates and german registrations every day, I apologize. To me, that seemed unique.

Now I really am confused. I am the one that said plates, but there is no such thing as a German Registration sticker for a window. There is one that goes on the plate and it looks like this...

I lived there for many years and had German plates. Still not sure what photo you were looking at in this thread. I assured that you were just joking.

I'm about to jump out as I am confused as hell!

LOL, I am getting old. I didn't really "read" all of the thread. Scat, please disregard my last post as I am an idiot.

I just saw your post.

It really has been a long day.

The green decal in the window is a German Emission Category 4 decal. It is only issued to cars manufactured after 1993 and is required to drive in certain large city's in Germany. So it just means that at some point it was driven in Germany. My MCS has one as well.
