Exhaust upgrade for cheap Money?

Hey guys, I know I posted this same question a while back, but im looking to revisit my consideration towards getting a sportier exhaust for my 2008 CS..

This is a daily driver so I don't want anything obnoxious.. just a muffler that gives the car some aggressive rubbles and crackles..

I know some people have gone with magnaflow but i'm not sure which one is best.. any insight?

looking to only spend a could hundred dollars if possible..

I was thinking of trying a custom exhaust shop to see what they'd recommend

any help or links would be awesome!

thanks!

Well there are many threads here about exhausts. The problem with a custom is you can't predict if it will drone or not. You can get an Invidia for $500 which is a great exhaust.

Do the secondary cat and resonator delete, I did it, and it sounds awesome in my opinion. An exhaust shop would charge around $100 at most.

Removing the second cat does nothing but improve performance. I have a cnt exhaust that I bought for $299 shipped and I love it. Great stainless construction, welds, mild sound w/out drone, perfect fit and a very noticeable seat of the pants pick up.

The cnt exhaust Also removes the horribly crimped section between the down pipe and resonator.

Drone is this loud hum that you hear cruising at a steady speed. It is typically worse the higher in the rpms.

You could get a muffler shop to make you a straight pipe cat-back for $200 or less. I have a 2.5" straight stainless steel exhuast after the undercar cat with a magnaflow dual exhaust finisher that looks similar to stock. There are no resonators or mufflers, but it's not obnoxious at all IMO. I get nothing but complements about the sound. It's very deep and rumbly, but the turbo keeps it quiet enough for the street. It sounds glorious to me, and it passes PA state inspection every year. It's a very inexpensive option, adds some HP, and saves about 25-30 lbs of weight off the car too.

I'm def. planning on doing the 2.5 straight pipe and 2nd cat delete with the magnaflow exhaust with 4 inch tips. I already deleted my resonator, I can't wait to get it done! Please put a video of the sound from the cabin and outside on idle.

I have looked all over at exhausts and have not come across the Q300 for 500.00

I just went to the site you listed........656.00????

I am really considering the exhaust depot cat back system at this point.

Damn then they went up on their price I got mine from them last year for that. Also Exhaust Depot is a good place. They sold me my JCW exhaust installed for a $100.

soo it sounds like removing the resonator on a stock exhaust system will make it sound like an upgraded one..? and obviously that delete shouldnt affect the emissions

Umm..well it's just the sound if you delete your resonator, your not adding HP or anything. But it won't affect any emissions or anything like that, it's just a resonator.
