I just ordered my replacement MCS with British Racing Green and White top. I have gone back and forth a million times on this color or Dark Silver. I saw them today and it was cloudy and raining. The green stood out with the clouds and the Dark Silver was pretty dull looking. On the other hand I know the green is going to show scratches, chips in the paint and dirt way more. The other thing is will I get tired of the green and white roof? The dark silver looks great in the sun and probably won't show dirt as much as the green. Currently I have a pure silver with black roof MC. It usually looks pretty clean other than the black roof.

I think I left out that I have had two silver cars before my MC. So let me know which color you think I would be happy with for the long haul.

O..9,

I'd go for GREEN!

I have a DS/W, and I love it but it shows dirt too! And "relatively speaking" theres a million DS minis out compared to the BRG...

I'm not getting rid of mine, but if I was buying a new one it would be BRG/W with cordoba interior and maybe even wood trim....to me, thats kind of a classic look...wasn't available when I bought mine...

Let us know what you decide, and why

BRG/W looks fantastic on a cloudy day! I might be biased though

Do you notice lots of rock chips in the bumper? I have gotten quite a few this winter in my Pure Silver MC.

Go for Green.
It's great for:
St. Pattys day
Christmas
Hiding in bushes
Being a classic MINI color with a great racing heritage.

They dont put down sand or salt on the roads in Alabama, so rock chips are few and far between.

But since BRG the paint is metallic, it does a good job of disguising a few scratches or a thin layer of road grime.

I'm surprised there are not more BRG's out there. . . .

It isn't sand or rock on the road for traction. Every time I am passing a Semi-truck I hear those little tiny rocks hitting my car.

what about BRG/with Black roof? you should get that beige leather interior. It would look great.

Simple: BRG w/BRG. The BLK roof neither stands-out or blends-in well with a sunroof. I went with a BRG roof as a non-traditional MINI approach.

Of course, this is like selecting a house color except you can't get a sample pint to apply. It's a one-shot choice that has to be right the first time.

Good Luck,
SMKKVK

Ya know... all the colors are really good looking. Because
of this, no matter what color you get, you'll be happy with it.

What's interesting, is that if the above is true, why do we all
struggle over our color choice?

I think colors are emotional. I think maybe we are trying to get
an emotional reading on the colors in order to choose one. And
maybe other factors are giving us emotional satisfaction with
this car, so the color is not as important as our brain thinks it is.

Whew! CooperBeagle is tuckered out thinking such big thoughts!

 Godspeed.

Go with BRG/WT. Too many cars of all kinds out there in various shades of gray/silver. BRG is different.

I came down to the very same 2 choices when ordering my new s recently. I went with ds/ds for a couple of reasons, but it was close. If the mini brg was "real" - ie. non-metallic and of the proper tone - I would have gone for it without question. But while it looks nice on a cloudy day, once the sun is out, it looks, well... it just doesn't work for me. ds, on the other hand...

BRG/W is just a classic look for the mini.I have an 04 mcs and it's a combo i never get tierd of looking at. But no matter what colors you choose you must keep it cleaned and waxed. When i see a mini go by that's filthy and uncared for i just shake my head and want to call the mini police.

I have DS/W and love it, but I think my Cabrio is going to be BRG/Black with the tan interior.

BRG/B here, really depends on what you want. I decided I wanted something distinctly british and ordered mine with BRG/B, something that nobody has around here. The DS is nice, but there's way too many DS cars in my area and I didn't want to be driving the same ole MINI as someone else. It's a personal call, I'd get the BRG/W if I were you though....here's a shot of mine:

thx, she's lowered on H&R springs (which are coincidentally, also green in color ). Wheels are 15X6.5 Rota Circuit 8. Here's a pic on stock S-lite boat anchor wheels...

Last weekend NorCal MINI's had an outing 30 cars went for a drive.

Never seeing so many MINI in the real world before, I came away with this
that BRG/w looks so nice, as did the PS/W

My eyes were riveted to these 2 cars as we were parked on the rotunda infront of the State Capital blg

There were 12 DS/B or DS/DS there was 1 brg

No bias here. I have an EB/W

I ordered my S last weekend. BRG/W. My wife and I wanted EB/B but fell in love with the other combo instantly. It is so classic MINI.

My friend has DS/DS and it looks very classic and sporty, but our personal taste fell on the green. They are both great combos.

Hmmm....I've been going back and forth on the PS and DS....after seeing this post....I'm leaning more towards the DS....

Such a tough decision! MUCH harder than deciding to get a MINI!

True! Color choices are, probably more than most decisions, the ones that influence the personality, soul, or vibe that our MINIs will carry....and that separates us between out hearts and our heads. Aggressive...classic...cute....cheeky....this is a big decision, IMO.

i feel your pain. i'm currently struggling with BRG/W and Electric Blue/W for MCS. good news is you can't go wrong with either of your choices.
at present happily driving Silver/Black '03 MC.

My current MC is Pure silver with a black top. I love it but the black top is a pain in the *** to keep clean and dust free. I am kind of leaning towards dark silver for my new one. I like the green probably a bit more but afraid I will get tired of it in a few years and I really want to keep this car awhile. I think Dark Silver is the safe way to go. I may change my mind though. I have about 5 times already.
