STD or strut bar and plates.

well my strut towers are mushrooming...126k miles on my MCS... the passenger side way more than the driver side. the thing is do any of you guys who have the M7 bar and plates notice a difference in stiffness at all?(mainly is it worth the extra 90 odd dollars)

because in my rx7 i did have a front strut tower bar but i took it out, and to be honest i really don't feel any difference at all. maybe because i went all out with suspension on the car. but i still don't feel a difference with it or with out it.

also because my passenger side is mushroomed quite a bit, do i have to bang it back flat or do i just crank down on the plates (when i get them) to flatten out the towers again?

I'd just go plates (STDs) especially as the bar often requires additional work to remove or reform the bonnet insulation so that it doesn't make the hood bulge.

I tried just cranking down the STDs, but ended up banging it flat, then bolting them on. Didn't like the look as the stock towers bent (in a not good way) to conform to the STDs.
