R50/53 Awwww Yeahh!
Awwww Yeahh!
I am really happy to announce to whomever cares to get sucked into the title thread... after a 4 year hiatus driving a very nice but soul stealing Toyota Avalon, I am trading it out for a 2006 MCS (my second mini, and likely my 13 year old son's first) this weekend.
It's been an interesting road... Mini's really helped shaped my life more than most would admit. I caught the bug and ordered a 2003 MCS in June of 2003, and it brought me more joy than many things in my life. It brought me into contact with GOOD people... intelligent folks from all walks that have become and remained some of my best friends, even when I sold the car for what seemed like good reasons at the time.
I can't wait to enjoy sharing again in the joy that is modifying and making a Mini my own stamp on those that I share the road with. I just hope the police leave me alone a little less and a few years have made me more aware of my speed when I'm out and about. lol.
Now I just have to figure out my actual upgrade path... HA... This is a Hyper Blue, White roof MCS with 15,300 miles. It's pretty ***** out loaded from the factory.. only missing leather, chrono, park distance and the H/K stereo (wtf?!) I mean, it has rear fog and Limited slip! Sheesh...
See you guys at the next Dragon...it'll be my first, but I'm committed!

Wow, great car, and my favorite color combo. The only thing I'd want out of the options you listed as "missing" might be the HK stereo. And I the last time I even turned mine on, was to try and find a traffic report, so I wouldn't really even miss that. I'd say the car was perfect.

'Soul-stealing", good one.
I had a wide-ranging list of cars to shop when I bought my MINI, anything in a certain price range that I thought I wanted to check out. With a 100-mile round trip commute each day, I even included some comfy-mobiles...why not be coddled?
Took a test drive in a Cadillac CTS4: pearl white, tan leather, smooth, quiet. GM V6 highway mpgs are pretty decent. But it was a complete yawner, it didn't provoke anything in me but slumber.
So I bought a polar opposite: MCS with sport suspension, rowdy JCW exhaust. Still has a great leather interior, though, and I look forward to motoring every day!
Enjoy!
