Offset (ET) 35 16 inch will it fit
I have a chance to buy some 16 inch wheels for my 2011 cooper that have 35 offset. Currently I have the 17 inch Mini lites with 205/50/17 which I do not like. I think the 16 inch wheels fit my needs better.
QUESTION: HOW WILL THE 16 INCH 35 OFFSET LOOK ON MY CAR. WHAT ARE MY LIMITS ON 16 INCH TIRES,SO THE WHEELS DO NOT STICK OUT PAST THE CAR.

OEM 16's come with 195-55-16 tires btw.
We have a 03 Mazda Protege5 that came with a 195-50-16 tire originally. I found that to be a bit undersized for the car and also very few tires are available in that size. So I've been running 205-50-16 ever since the first set of tires purchased, and it's been thru quite a few sets with over 150K miles at this point! I that is a 6" wide rim.
For a 6.5-7" rim I would for sure go with a 205-50-16 on a Mini. That's also much closer to the OEM diamater of either the 205-45-17 or the 195-55-16.

Compared to stock 16" wheels and tires-
16x7 with offset 35mm should be OK
the wheel and tire will stick out 18mm or 0.7" wider than stock which should be fine.
Use 205/50-16 or 205/55-16 tire if using stock suspension.
195/50-16 could be used but it is smaller than stock tire diameter so it would increase wheel gap.
