do iget megan coilovers ??

hey everyone
so im am looking into getting some coilovers (co) and as of right now i am leaning more toward getting megan CO. what i want to know is the people who have had them on MCS or still do what do you like and don't like the + and the - on them. i know there are threads out there about CO but i want to hear what you all have to say. also if megan's are not a good set to get what would you recommend instead. keep in mind i am a collage student that doesn't have money flowing so the pricier CO the longer i need to save. the highest i want to spend is like 1400 max.

as of right now im looking at
1. megan
2 h&r street (same price) no camber plate
3. h&r rss (more $$) no CP
4. and at the max kw's v1 (no cp)

if you all are thinking that i should save up for the $$ ones then that means pushing back my saving for an exhaust.

i should also add that i am looking for mainly daily driver and some auto x

one more thing are camber plates really need with CO's for daily and auto x

so all the help i can get the better for me to figure out what is the best set for the money

thanks everyone out there

Megans are good by all accounts, and come with camber plates too, which is nice.

If you're thinking of KW V1's, look at the ST's, which are the same except with a different housing and only a 5 year warranty, and a little less expensive. I have them and I think they're great.

Good Luck

No, the ST's don't come with camber plates. I might get Ireland Engineering ones eventually.

I just had Megans installed today. Compared to the Konis & Stock springs they're much less jarring/harsh and we're just at 1" lower. Next wk will go for another small drop to see what thats like, but after 25 miles on hwy and residential roads I really am pleased.

I am in the same boat as you. Considering the Megans, BC BR's, or the ST's. I heard the Megans are made by BC, but BC has their own line and apparently better quality. Price seems a bit more though on the BC's. Problem is with Megan and BCs vs the ST's is warranty. I hear lots of good things about Megans and you do get a lot for your money with them, but a 1 year warranty vs 5-year with the ST's.

My second day of driving w/Megans was even better experience than the 1st day. My other MCS will be getting CO's at some point too. I had VMAXX on a 04 MCS and no comparison ride wise vs the Megans.

Lots of threads about the Megans, you're going to get more info slogging through those than hoping all the Megan users are around to answer.

The search function on NAM is atrocious, so try this:

I'd say ST's or look up Fortune Auto, I have their 500 Series coilovers with Swift springs on my MR2 and they are AMAZING. I was going to get them for the Mini, but didn't realize they made them until after i bought my suspension.

Just a thought.

Better yet do a review a year from now and see how they hold up.

We offer the ST and KW coilovers. We have had nothing but great feedback from our customers. After having many customers ask for a camber plate we have put together a package deal

You will not get as low as Vmaxx, nothin really gets that low since it kills the performance. My car above is on 17's and as low as it will go in front and I also removed a collar. The rear still has 5 turns and could lose a collar for another 1/4 inch. If you want to slam it and tuck significant tire then Vmaxx or bags.

so it's been a couple of weeks since i put the megans on and i really like them they do need some adjusting to find the right height, rebound... that you like. the thing that i think is odd with them is unlike most other CO where you want to adjust the hieght you just turn the spring collar. on these you 1. loosen the outer shock housing then 2. turn the shock (think of a screw and nut idea turning the screw into the nut) but other then that have no complaints with then.
