So when I asked about the adapter the parts manager inquired "you have an arm-rest right?" I said yes, because I do, and so I shelled out the $240. It arrives today and I merrily go to snap it in, and lo and behold, there is no connection for it.
So I am assuming there is more than just a requirement for "an arm-rest", does it require the tech-package and is there any way to retrofit it without the tech package?

 

A big help to us would be to tell us what options you have in the car. This will make a big difference as to how we go about helping you. I.E. do you have MINI connected, or what stereo is it. Oh and what year is the car as that will also make a big difference as well.

But one big question is: Did you remove the plastic insert in the arm rest? if you do not then you can not see the connector and the cradle will not fit.

NO tech package which I think is the issue, there seems to be a different arm-rest for the tech package, which has the connection board and wiring in it for the snap-in. The one I have does not, which kinda pisses me off as its still $250!!
