R56 2010 R56 P0101 Error
2010 R56 P0101 Error
Hey all,
Hope I have posted this in the correct place..?
In my 2010 cooper S I keep getting CEL up on the dash and using Fuzzycar app on the iPhone its showing me Error code P0101 which is relating to the MAF sensor.
Since I keep getting this i am assuming its a dirty/faulty sensor and was looking to check the sensor however, I cannot find it in the engine bay. Its not connected to the intake pipe from the airbox to the turbo where you find it on earlier models.
Does anyone know where it is? Or/and could shed some more light on this error code.
I get the code most of the time if I give the car the "beans" through the gears from 2nd to 5th
- please no stupid comments about not doing that
Thanks
Andy

Andy, grab hold of an approved MINI-protocol scanner; P0101 isn't a specific MINI fault code listed in the service manual.
Right now, you're pulling a converted general P-code that's condensed from government standards.
That may or may not be true; but with your active warranty still in affect, I would head to the dealer so they can fix it without you inducing more harm.
With the 2010 model year, you still should have the N14 engine. The N18 was released in 2011 model year vehicles.
The N14 has the MAF directly attached to the driver side of the airbox.

Thanks Eric, will try and get it scanned correctly or just get the dealer to look at it
I have seen the pictures of the sensor connected to the air feed but it is not there on mine. I would take a photo but i wont be near the car til wednesday.
Thanks though.
