MINI Milestone

NorthAmericanMotoring.com has been with me since day one when I bought my MINI back in January 2005. I've made a lot of good motoring friends, and my claim to fame was being shot at while on the Las Vegas strip during AMVIV.

In spite of all the reliability issues we read about on forums such as this, it hasn't been that bad at all.

Congrats. It is encouraging to see a post like yours. These sites can scare you to death with the ratio of horror stories to positive posts but other car make sites seem to be the same way. MINIs are not Hondas but they aren't Yugos either. Good luck!

Awesome! I have been around since 2005 myself and I am now at 86000 miles with only minor issues and normal wear and tear. So far it has not been a bad car at all.

I hope that wasn't one of the planned activities during AMVIV.

The strip drive was a planned activity. The shooting was not.
My rear window was shot out so I drove home to Canada with cardboard taped over the window. The very first MINI ClubVan, if you will.

Shot at? Did they catch the guy? I'd imagine lots of people witnessing that on the strip.

150,000 kilometers is a lot of motoring !

I've done my share of motoring but appears I've done wayyyy more than my share of posting compared to you.

I sure misread your OP. I thought you "shot" the photo of your speedo at AMVIV...

Cardboard not quite the Mod you were looking for I am sure. Thank God you were ok. What a story you can tell now though.
Thanks for letting us know how well your car has done. Like someone else has noted-most post horror stories, so your post was great news.

You should get some of those fake bullet hole stickers and stitch them up the side of the car....

The way I see it is the reason there are horror stories on the site is because most of us don't come on here and say, "Well my car has worked perfectly today. "It started and was fun." We would rather post about other things like our milestones for instance. We don't come on here and say that our turbo didn't blow today, or our water pump functioned perfectly by pumping water. So the majority of us have had good experiences with our minis, but if we have a problem with it we come on here and post about it. That is why there are so many. Or else if we posted about how our cars are working perfectly, then there would be so many more of those.
