Throttle position sensor (TPS) on scangauge II

Hi,

I need someone who has a scanguage II to check something for me.

I am trying to troubleshoot problems on my JCW rally car (the dreaded 2885 boost pressure implausibility code). We are primarily using the autologic software for diagnosis http://www.autologic-diagnos.com/en-...mw-diagnostics

However, I have a scanguage which I use when racing to monitor coolant temp, boost etc. I noticed that when I set the guage to TPS the reading maxes out at around 68% even at WOT. Unfortunately the autologic doesn't seem to have the ability to monitor the TPS. It can measure pedal position, which shows 100% when the pedal is fully depressed.

I believe the reading of 68% TPS at WOT is probably "normal" for the scan guage in this car. The manual does say some cars will not show 100% but a lesser number.

We don't have another R56 to plug it into and try for comparison.

If someone has an R56 and scanguage II can you please check to see what reading you get on TPS under WOT? If I can confirm that it is similar to mine I can exclude that as a potential problem.

Many thanks

How funny, I was just looking at my TPS as I was driving home today, mine read 85% at WOT.....I was in 6th gear when I was trying this..not sure if that helps you out or not

Hi,

Thanks, that is awesome.

If you could go and do a WOT run in 2nd or 3rd and see what it says I would be eternally grateful!!!

I'll give it go later today, traffic on the highway this morning didn't let me go pedal to the floor

Thanks big time! I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. It really helps me trying to sort out the car. I think we need to take a look at the throttle body on my car!

PS here is something in return, footage of my JCW rally car in action

That looks pretty freakin awesome!

I just realized, you have an N14 engine....I have an N18

....I'm not sure if the scangauge would read different numbers for WOT???

At rest, once the car is warmed up, the TPS reads 13% at the lowest.

Thanks, mine reads 13% at rest as well

I'll try and find someone with an N14 to test as well
