When I installed the Mintex brake pads, I decided to conduct an experiment.

OEM pads: on the front left and rear right wheels
Mintex pads: on the front right and rear left wheels
Duration: one week, approximately 250 miles
Driving condition: dry pavement with mostly local drive

Result: When comparing front left to front right, it's very obvious that the OEM pads resulted in much more brake dust collection on the wheel. What's really amazing is that the front wheel with Mintex pads produced less dust than the rear wheel with OEM pads.

Well, I sure hope you work for Mini cuz you just got them another customer!!! Though I have always used (in other cars) NAPA Premium brake pads and never had a problem of a big dust issue, I will try the Mintex thanks to you!!!
THANK YOU for sharing!

I wish I work for Mintex, but unfortunately I don't.

I did the experiment for my own interest, which may also benefit other MINI owners. Hence, I posted this thread to share my experience. At $60 for the full set (front and rear) is a worthwhile investment to consider for those who enjoy clean wheels on their MINI.

Thanks for the cool experiment Mr Science  . This is the type of post that makes it worth the visit.

Damn brake dust !! I'm usually cleaning twice the wheels with both cars.

Which Mintex pads did you get and from where did you get them for that price?

Thanks,

Jason

davecsumini, this is a great experiment, and a great result.

Thanks for doing it and posting the results.

I'm a convert also.

Jason, I'm using Mintex Red Box purchased from a blow-out sale. Check this thread! Unfortunately, they no longer offer the pads at that price.
