Power cut on hard acceleration then grinding?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could help me identify my problem. I have a 07 MCS with 55000 on the clock, timing chain was replaced last year and the fuel pump after the power would cut out under hard acceleration.
haven't had any problems since till now. Under hard acceleration power cuts out for a split second, once or twice, also while under hard acceleration there is a grinding noise coming form under the front of the car, with a slight vibration in the gas pedal. anyone know what this could be?

Thank you

- Matey

It could be an electrical issue (check your sparks, your coil packs, the alternator, battery, etc) but it could also being the fuel system cutting off due to sensing an over boost in the engine trying to protect it from damage. Not certain about the grinding noise, but possibility that it's just the DCS/ACS/whateveritscallednow cutting in to keep you from "losing control." I haven't had it happen in our MCS, but that sound/feeling sounds familiar on the Challenger when the ESP is kicking in and fighting for control.

Are you low on oil? Could be sloshing/losing oil at the pickup on hard accels.

Or you could be describing a superknock, and the "grinding" is more a ratcheting sound, which is your engine pulling timing because it senses a knock, which is the momentary loss in power.
