Key fob in the wash machine!!

Has anyone had their fob go through the wash? I just realized mine did. I'm going to let it dry before pushing any buttons, but has anyone had it happened and what were the results?

Put it in a bag with rice overnight and take the battery out, if you have comfort access.

I dropped mine in a lake once. It was only submerged for a few seconds, but it WAS under completely. It was fine right away. They are designed to be somewhat waterproof. But your situation is more extreme, so I don't know.

My hubby has saved a couple of cell phones with the bag of rice trick. Worth a try. The rice absorbs the moisture that would otherwise linger inside of the fob.

Yes and I didn't have a problem using it right after it went through. Though after five years the batteries are starting to crap out. I am get noticably less range out of it.

Just ordered my Countryman, so can't speak to the Mini fobs, but I have washed my BMW fobs a couple times and worked right away also.

Just left for a 2 week vacation. I'll try it when I get back. Hopefully the Arizona dryness will dry it out.
