Price: $75
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R55, R56, R57
Location (Region): NorthEast

SOLD, Thank you!

A chrome hood scoop off my 08 MCS. I had it replaced last fall under warranty, and changed it for a blue one. It has no scratches or problems, only about 6 months on the car. Price includes shipping within the US.

Have fun,
Mike

What do you mean it was replaced ""under warranty?"

I bought this car in October 2011, and there was some flaking starting on the chrome scoop. They put a new scoop on the car because of the problems with the plating. I replaced it with a painted one a few months later, so this scoop has about 4 months of use on it.

Thanks! I read it as the scoop you are selling was replaced under warranty by your current scoop. Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like a good deal. If I could swing it right now I would jump on it. Good luck!

I'm willing to take $75 with shipping, but if you want to send $100 that would be fine! mbobowicz@roadrunner.com is paypal.

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I just got my MINI recently...how does it attach to the existing opening? Is it adhesive?

There is no adhesive, it uses pins that are molded into the bottom of the scoop flange. The pins go into 'bushings' in the metal hood. There are a couple of screws to remove underneath, then you grab the scoop and pull upward. It takes a suprising amount of force, but I did not have any problems getting this one out when I put the painted on on. None of the pins are damaged.

I think that you could probably find a thread that has pictures how to remove it, but it is not that bad of a job. 1 hour tops.

Yes, this is the factory, OEM part. It is not warped and in very nice condition. I replaced it with a painted one, there is nothing wrong with it.
