Enkei Wheel Woes
One of the valves on my Enkei RPO-1's has become damaged. I tried using a valve stem extractor, but the brass is wedged in there. After removing the stem, my local shop noticed that it's a very odd size. The base of the stem is ~14 mm (0.55"
whereas normal valve stems are ~20mm (0.79"
at the base.
I called Discount Tire Direct, Enkei International, and Tire Rack, all of whom told me: "We know exactly what you are talking about, but we have no idea where to get that."
Does anyone know who may have such an item, or does anyone possibly have a mangled RPO-1 that would be willing to part with its' stem? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

>>that's quite bad that all of them know the issue, but don't know the solution!

I dont handle Enkei wheels, thats why we didnt know.
King @ Enkei -
"I advise drilling out the stems to accomodate the regular size
-I can not get any small stems into this country any more. You could try grey market"
This was Not a Tire Rack recomedation

A quick search shows stem diameters all over the place.
http://www.prestigewheel.com/index.html at least lists all dimensions. Do you know (from the distributor or enkei) what the exact dimension is to make your search easier?

ps: gran turismo in ATL is an old-school shop. They'd know where to get em if anyone would. I'll be there this week if you want me to ask.

Thanks, Alex. Despite not selling Enkei's, Tire Rack was very friendly and helpful to deal with. I tried to call you, but I think I got patched to Zack (?!?) when you weren't available.
Update: I managed to extract the broken core and have reused the existing stem. It appears to work fine with no soapy bubbles in testing.
Thanks guys for all the advice.

Being that I've not owned a foreign car in over 30 years, I had no idea that wheel manufacturers use different size holes for the valves. Anyone know of a list of wheel manufacturers that don't keep with the standard 20mm / .79 size hole?
