I was installing my new Stoptech rotors and pads on the front of my 08 MCS and I took the caliper carriers apart to paint them. I pulled all 4 pins out and when reassembling them I noticed that I have two different kinds of pins. Two have a rubber portion and the other two are all metal. I put one of each on each side, just wanted to make sure that was the right thing to do? Also, I did not differentiate between caliper carriers and they both went on without any problems at all, just wanted to verify that they are different part numbers, but physically the same?

I had read that the all metal versions are just parts store replacements, if so I am going to buy 4 new pins from Mini and be done with it if they are all supposed to be the same.
