About 21 pounds it is reported.

I think they look rather oversized.
Like Wagon wheels.

I think silver is better.
A two tone -dark anthracite with siver on the hub and rim edge would be nice.

Those white wheels look ridiculous in 18".
They are huge and stand out way too much compared to the rest of the car.

I wouldn't put those on my car if you paid me.
To each his own I guess.

This new batch of stuff coming out from MINI ... these wheels, the bling bling look of the new cabrio ... has me a little worried.

I think I prefer silver as well. Perhaps the silver will not appear as large on the car as the white wheels.

Dark anthracite would be nice, less apparent of the brake dust.

Something about the white ones just looks wrong. I'm not a big fan of 18"s to begin with, but the silver ones look okay.

Yuck. At this point the person might as well paint the A pillars, fuel cap, and fender trim white, too. The car has clearly given up any pretense of dignity.

I feel the same way about my white S-lites that I do about those 18's. The white is just too much white and it sticks out too much. White wheels make the wheels look even bigger than they are. Like a basketball player with a new pair of Nike's.

Gag. More plain anywheels to pass off as cool to the MINI masses--in this case simply because they are linked to the term "JCW". Looking at those wheels is like getting a fork to the cranium.

Again I request that wheel manufacturers make some wheels that really grab the viewer and look great on the car.

Whether in sliver or white...they are OK...nothing spectacular IMHO
There are many..many.... aftermarket wheels out there that far surpass these in both style and function... I'd venture to say

Peace,
D

VDUb Doug is correct.

White wheels are great, especially on IB/W. But 18" is too much wheel. I mean, why not throw on some phat chrome spinners?

Doug,

The color and style of your 16"s makes them look HUGE. The color and style of my 16"s makes them look tiny.

I think some 18" applications look okay, but the JCW ones in white just seem overpowering. I ran white wheels for some time last year, but not every style works.

Yes, those 16" wheels in white look fine. Anything bigger and they just look silly. Nice wheels Vdubdoug!

Okay I'll be the dessenting opinion here: I love them. For my money in white or silver they look incredible (although I'd prefer the silver).

Went to the dealer yesterday hoping to look at the JCW wheels live. Not available, not yet released in the USA though the parts man had ordered two sets. The pictures and the price convinced me they are not for me. Settled on 18" Crono Evolutions 5 spokes from Tire Rack w/ Kumho ECSTA XM's. Can't wait 'till summer!!

On a technical note - the use of a wide angle lens, and the contrast ratio of the white wheel to black tire increases the optical effect of them being HUGE. Taken with a longer lens - maybe 100-180 MM would give the car a much more aggressive look and stance. I am betting that shot differently, opinions would differ.

The 18s are way too big IMHO, makes the car look like a playskool toy.

vdubdoug's wheels look great though, I like those multi-spoke 17s and the O.Z. SLs are always a safe bet.
