Introductions

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. We just ordered a Countryman All 4 S for my wife. Light White with the following (Canadian) packages
Sound, Lights, Premium and wired. Also comfort access and rear PDC. Now we just have to wait the 2 1/2 months. My dealer has production slots for April, so I anticpate end of May before we get the car.

She's coming from a Subaru Legacy GT, so it will be a downgrade in terms of power and AWD sophistication, but the gadgets will make up for it

Welcome. From my research, the ALL4 system mechanically seems rather similar to that used by Subaru for its current models with auto trans (a multi-disc clutch AWD unit). In MINI's words, "Torque split is instantaneous and varies seamlessly based on multiple factors, including speed, steering angle and acceleration". Reports indicate that it is very effective. I am just breaking in my car and I haven't been in low-traction situations yet.

I should have said both cars are standard. The legacy has a 5 spd, and the mini 6 ofcourse. The legacy is more RWD biased, so it will be and adjustment to go back to FWD (most of the time).

A better description of how the ALL4 system actually works:

What city are you from? I've seen a few Light White ones around, though they still aren't very common.

Congrats! I ordered my CMS All4 10 days ago, can't wait. I am downsizing from a Volvo XC 90, looking forward to improved fuel economy and driving dynamics,

I'm in Pickering, it'll be my wife driving it though. I have an X5 35D, the diesel gets great mileage.

Popped back in to say goodbye. After 4 years and 52k KM, we got the vin for our 2017 X1, and we are picking it up next week.

Yes, I know that the F48 is based on the new countryman, but I would not buy another mini or recommend the brand to anyone I know. Nothing to do with the car itself which was fun to drive, but Mini Canada failing to cover items like batteries claiming they are wear items, when the car is still under factory warranty.

Its a helluva thing to completely kill your brand reputation over a $100 item

a 4 year gap in the past 2 posts doesn't bode well for this particular thread does it? Well anywho I have a new to me 2012 Countryman S 2wd, sadly not an All4 but it's alright. I've already started modding, first the suspension. Afterwords I'll start squeezing a tiny bit more power from the car. It's mostly my DD since I have a project JDM R32 back home that takes most of my money & time. Looking forward to lurking on this site a bit and sharing what's going on.

The car itself is great, but dealing with Mini Canada is another story. You will probably have a different experience dealing with Mini USA.
