My new leather armrests

Just finished installing some custom made Italian Leather covers on my center and door armrests - which I ordered from Redline. I think they turned out great! I have some installation notes I'd like to share in case any of you decide to do so as well.

1) Their installation docs are excellent - the only thing I would add is that you need more that one bottle of the super strength loctite (It looks like a big bottle - but it only got me through half way on the second door armrest). I would also add that you need a bottle of rubbing alcohol handy. This takes the spray adhesive off of the leather without any discoloration. Also worked to remove it from fingers.
2) BE VERY CAREFUL with the Loctite. If it gets on the front side leather, it does not seem to come off. I would think that acetone would remove it - but Redline states in the docs that it could discolor the leather. I got a small amount on the exposed leather. If anyone knows something that might take it off - let me know.

Attached is a pic - sorry for the quality - I took it in my poorly lit garage with my iPhone.

Now I am ready to order some shift and brake boots!

Wow those came out great. Any plans to add a piece on the dash? The area under the trim?

Coincidentally I mailed colorline parts to Redlinegoods yesterday for them to create a leather wrap like the option that's available for 2012s. Once they have the template made, they'll have custom colorline wraps available for all the Gen2's.

Love your interior, euells! Can't wait to see what's next.

So I guess you are saying that I am not done after all - that's awesome! Thanks for doing that!

So here are a couple of pics of the boots I installed this weekend. I will take some better pics next week after I get the car cleaned up good and all the rain stops.

Looks great! The stripe ties really nicely with the grey trim - it looks like it belongs together.

Thanks! So what color scheme are you thinking of going with?

I'm doing black, grey, and white interior stuff. I got the blackjack door armrest wraps from gobadges and it took off from there. Next up is a white colorline. I'm also kicking around the idea of blowing my tax return on reupholstering the seats in black with white or grey piping. That'd go really well with your armrests. Maybe you could do it instead and I can mod vicariously?

Looks awesome! What is that thing you mentioned - a tax return? I need to figure out how to get one of those! Once I do my taxes - the mods will cease for a few months...

I'm done - at least for a little while. I want to add a rear sway bar! The car has to look good and drive well!

I have so many projects that I want to do to my MCS. Just not sure what color combo I want to do for the armrest, boots, and doors. I would love to cover the oval sections of the doors with leather. Now that would really improve the look of the interior.
