The Countryman is the car this year with the highest resale value!!!!
Pretty cool, although I do not think any CM owners really want to sell it

Less supply than the demand!
Traditionally, MINI's have had some of the best resale values. A major factor in the equation is that the majority of new MINIs are purchased at or near MSRP. Thus, MINIs are favorably distinguished from other marques whose 2-year depreciation is exacerbated by substantial dealer discounting. Yes, supply/demand plays a role in the used car market, but limited/no purchase discounts play an important role as well.
Well, I will have to attest to this. I got my ALL4, used in January. It had 10800 miles and I paid about what I could have still ordered a new CMS(non ALL4)with a couple less options. Still feel like I paid a premium for it, but happy as ever and love my EggMINI
, not sure if I would trade him.

I don't like the MINI Select plan (my mistake) and I can't refinance, mostly because I'm upside down on the loan due to my prior vehicle (not at fault accident screwed me on Carfax.) So, I'm looking for a Jeep to replace it with. Love the car though, despite the quirky pause during taking off, which is one of my few pet peeves...maybe the only one.
The more options you have the worse the re-sale.
I have a 2012 Countryman All4 with 4000 miles. I want to trade it in on a JCW Roadster. My countryman is fully loaded and was $38,000 new in October.
Now dealer will only give me $32,000 on a trade and if I can sell it outright KBB says it is only worth about $33,000.
So that is -$5,000 in 6 months. Not good at all.
I used to trade Ford F-250 Diesel King Ranches about every 2 years for $5000.00 difference.
The Countryman is perfect but I am just not a SUV person. I thought I'd try it but it's not for me.

I sold my Jeep (#3) for the CMS4. I loved being a "Jeeper" but, the cost of gas was killing me. I will most likely buy a 03-04 Grand Cherokee in a couple years. I just love to go 4-wheeling too much!
Good luck in your sale!

Thanks - keeping my fingers crossed, though I'll be sad to see the MINI go if I do get a great trade deal or a buyer!
Seriously. I have been so disappointed with this vehicle. Multiple squeaks & rattles, engine stumbles, poor quality interior, counter-intuitive stereo system, rear seats that try to take your head off when you pull the release strap, rear spoiler feels like it's about to drop off, and now we got a recall notice and are technically not supposed to park the bloody thing in the garage.
Absolute rubbish!

I would take that 69% quote with a grain of salt. It's a "projected" number meaning that someone is looking into a crystal ball.
The devil is in the fine print because the pricing and resale value they're quoting is for the bare bones base CM and options will not return as high a value. The ones that will matter the most are automatic transmission and All4 system because that will be the top level criteria that a dealer taking in a trade or a used car shopper will consider. Things like leather, heated seats, nav, sunroof will make the car more desirable and easier to sell, but will not yield anywhere near 69%. Some options such as the paint color, stripes, flat load floor, armrest, blacked out headlight, anthracite headliner quickly inflate the MSRP but are going to return nothing.
Folks who bought a CM at 25k or lower will get a great return, others with sticker prices close to 40k not so much. This is how things play with European brands that have a la carte configurations.

Just bought a used '11 CMS4 loaded with under 15K miles for $29K. Wanted Auto, sunroof, All4S, heated seats and flat load floor. Was willing to go to $28K for under 20K miles, but found this one for $1000, more. I'm stoked. Our second MINI. Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee are sold, raise those gas prices anytime you want!

I too found my used '11 CMS All4, 6 speed, Cold and Premium Package with 6500K for $27500K. This is almost the cost for a basic CMS All4 without any additional extras. Very low mileage and awesome price. I was very happy to find such an awesome deal and I love the my MINI. I have had it since January and put approximately 2k miles on it so far.
