How many of you have a Mini equipped this way?

I bought my car off the lot as it was optioned the way I would have built it, but as a bonus has the rear fog. I think it's odd. Perhaps the dealer meant to option it for front fogs and ticked the wrong box!

That is strange. I only got the rear fog light because the salesman showed me that if I don't have it, I would be missing a toggle switch. It is nice to have though when someone is following you too close. Tap the brake and turn it on and watch them slam on their brake thinking you are going in reverse....

 

That does seem odd to me since the manual says that when you turn on the rear fog light the front fogs come on automatically. Would that mean your car is pre-wired but just no lights?

And sorry if this is a little OT but my rear fog light is red. Is this normal? Today I saw another Mini on the road and his fog light was white.

 

If it looks like this, the rear fog is only on the left side. On the right is the reverse light only, the red surrounding it is just for looks.
@Need: turning on the rear fog with the toggle does NOT illuminate the white reverse light. Doing what you are saying lights up the red fog light on the left only.

 

my lights dont look like that. Just one red light in the middle.

 

I don't think the manual says that. This is the only text about rear fog light in the manual:

Quote from the '05 PDF manual page 58:
"Rear fog lamp*
The low beams must be switched on. The yellow indicator lamp lights up. The rear fog lamp is switched on.
Observe all legal regulations concerning the use of fog lamps."

 

haha yours doesnt look like that because yours is 1st gen and his is 2nd... its ok your still learning... kind of funny though... yoda is usually the one teaching
