New Mini Owner - Check Engine Light on, but not seeing a code

I just bought a used r56 (2008 S) this week. I haven't been able to drive it much since my 400 mile drive back after picking it up because of snow and having summer tires with no traction. Today I went to have new all season tires put on it, but when I started the car the check engine light came on and I am trying to figure out why or what I should do. It is under 30 deg and I am not sure if this was part of the issue or not. I checked the gas cap and that had no effect. The light still comes on when starting the car.

I was at tires plus and they are able to read codes but they told me it came out blank. Also I followed the instructions to see the codes on the OBD and nothing comes up under the yellow check engine light here as well.

The car does not seem to run any different then it did when I drove it before. However I have only had it less then 7 days. I just don't want to cause long term issues with the "new to me" mini.

I do not live close to a mini dealer so I am not sure what else I should try. Any ideas? Anyway to reset the light to see if it comes back on? Thanks and advance for your help. This forum is great by the way.

No change in performance? And there were no faults stored after you scanned it?

Thanks for the reply. This was a double post when I first registered on the site some times it would post and other times it didn't. This was one that didn't and I tried again...

I did have a code on the OBC I just didn't know I had to hold the button for like 10 seconds to see it. It was 031 and when I went to auto zone their scanner was able to read it as well. Misfire on multiple cylinders. That happened after a bad storm. I bought a scanner myself and reset the codes and haven't had them come back on yet. So far so good.

Thanks again.
