Anyone done this? I know some have painted them. I like the CF covers but would rather paint the real cap instead of gluing on a cover. If it took the place of the real cap then that would be nice.

 

If you buy the covers from Bmw ( classic bmw) they replace your stock covers they don't glue. To take the cover off you start from the bottom and gently pry apart.

 

This in the out motoring web site.This is exactly how I did it."Simply pry off the old ones (starting from the under side of the mirror) using a plastic or metal spoon (covered in tape) and place the Chrome covers in their place."
