Hit my first pothole last night
It was dark and I didn't see the pothole near the edge of the road as I entered a right-hand turn. I hit it with my front right wheel at about 20mph and BANG!!! Oh-my-goodness, I thought the front end of the car exploded!
I have the Goodyear Eagle all-season runflats on 18" wheels, and the bang was incredible. I pulled over and shone my flashlight on the tire and front end and saw the ten-inch deep pothole but no damage to the car or tire. When I arrived home I pulled the car into my garage and got down on the floor to get a good look, but saw no problems. We used the CM to drive to church today and everything felt fine, including at 65mph on the highway.
I've never heard a sound like that before that didn't result in damage. Phew...

Definitely get your alignment checked. I hit a similarly bad pothole with my 335 with run flats last year and while the tire and wheel were fine, the alignment was significantly out. Checking the alignment will be much cheaper in the long run than replacing your front tires.
Right there with ya. I think all of us run flatters have had that very disconcerting encounter. Agree, you need to get the alignment checked at your earliest convenience. Even a very slight problem can cause abnormal wear.
