Taking Oliver on his first road trip this week!

My family and I are taking Oliver on a trip tomorrow!

Leaving Indy and headed to Cincinnati to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge for a couple days, then headed up to Dayton for Christmas with my in-laws, then back to Indy. Sad that he will be sleeping outside for the next couple days though

He is still in the "breaking in" period, almost 500 miles on it, any tips or advice for the trip? I know to try to stay away from cruise control and vary the RPMs, but I will at least engage the CC to make sure it is working and all that. Looking for a few twisty roads to take it on, but we are on a bit of a time crunch so we will probably be sticking to interstates.

Thanks all, wish us luck and Happy Holidays to everyone!

I am right there in the break-in period with you. I have 250 miles on Spritzie and I will be going from DC to Rochester, NY on Friday. The good thing is that when I get back next Thursday, I should be through the break-in.

Happy Holidays! Safe travels!

Depending upon the route you take and when you leave we might pass each other! Heading from Rochester, NY to Orange County on Friday as well. Would always enjoy seeing another MINI after all!

PinoyMini, I would suggest finding a way to take some back roads when you can if nothing other than for the enjoyment factor! I know the desire to get there quickly though and it seems like everyone has a different take on the whole break-in period so even if its not perfect I'm sure someone will think its just fine!

I was only able to resist the sport button for about 450 miles, but I have been watching my revs and keeping them under 5k. Have a safe, fun trip!

Im doing my first road trip with "name to come soon" this weekend too. I'll put about 600miles over the weekend, but with only 60 miles on the odo as of now, its gonna be a couple of weeks before I reach the 1200 mile break in. Can't wait to push him to redline for the first time.

Route 15 to 390, I am looking forward to the area around English Corners (? not sure if that is the name...English is in there somewhere) and Buttonwood.

Hmmm, not certain about English Corners, only thing that comes to mind with that is Twelve Corners and I don't imagine you meant that. As far as buttonwood, am I missing something??? If you have a little extra time either on your way in or out you should give Italy Valley Road a try, its in Naples, NY so it is a little bit off the path.

Also, I'm leaving Friday afternoon heading down 390 to 86/17E for my venture, though you probably wont be near Rochester at that point yet!

I will be at my destination by then. Buttonwood is in PA, north of Williamsport.

Thought I would share a few pics I snapped while on the trip.

Out front of the lodge.

Parked him in view of our balcony, lol.

Ran to a Wal-Mart and came out with this parked next to me!

Random pic, found this guy at a local Target too!

Hope everyone had a good holiday, here comes New Years!!

Love the photo with the 500. Gives you an idea of the size comparison of the 2. Also what is that badge on the front of your MINI?
