I think I saw a message here indicating that the 2012s have a sun visor above the side windows instead of a grab handle. If I'm not imagining this, does anyone know if it looks like a 2011 can be retrofitted?

i sat in a 2012 a few days ago and saw that the new visor fits the contour of the roof much better than a retrofitted one from another mini. the cutout actually appears similar to the 2011 so i would think a retrofit would work, especially since they would match the headliner colors...

however... when i asked about it in the service dept, they could only find the whole set of visors in the system and only in black... and the door visor had no individual part number at this point... so they said..

I was thinking some folks out there already got an additional visor to do the passenger side, anybody know the part number for new visor in the standard headliner color?

 

My 2012 has the visor on the driver's side only. All other doors have a grab handle above them.

 

The visor in the 2012s is the same visor in the rest of the MINI line. It's just the ceiling cutout that has changed.

I posted all the part numbers in this thread. Part numbers vary by color and whether you have a sunroof.

 

According to Mike Bennett at Mini of South Atlanta (where I ordered mine from), the correct part number for a 2012 CM in Anthracite is 51169809235. This is a different part number from the other Mini's.

 

I have an extra Beige one if anyone wants it PM me to discuss.

They can be retrofitted to the 2011. Fit is not ideal, but it's better
than nothing.
Fits fine on passenger side of the 2012 too.
