R60 Side Sunvisors

Side Sunvisors
Just to let you all know, the R50 side sunvisors have the exact same bolt spacing and screw size if you want to remove your "oh chit" handles.
Fit is decent, but like I said, this is R50 parts on a R60. Love or hate, its just an option I thought would be nice know.

That's awesome to know even though the front edge sticks out like it does. Until some aftermarket company comes out with one, this is the best alternative for now.
Thanks

Hey fellow Countryman owners! I've been lurking here for a while but this is my first post. We took delivery of our Pure Red Countryman S on New Years Day and have racked up 2500 miles on her so far. The lack of a side sun visor has been my only real complaint with our Countryman...
Interestingly enough, the Mini website along with other Mini marketing materials list "3" sun visors as standard equipment on the Countryman. ie- the 3rd should be a driver side visor like on the other Mini models. I made my dealer aware of this and they have acknowledged. My dealer has said they will install the side visor for free once available. But up until this point, there was no part number availalbe for the side visor for a Countryman. With this info I'm going to request my dealer install an R50 visor (at no cost of course since it is supposed to be standar anyway!!!) until Mini comes out with one better matched to the Countryman.

Good catch . I printed out the feature list and will be holding my dealer to this when mine comes in.

I asked my MA about this and told him I would like one of the R50's. He said he would ask the Factory Rep. Came back and said the Countryman was never to have the 3rd visor so there was nothing that could be done. I told him the Mini USA site listed them as standard equipment and I would like the R50 ones free of charge so I can have some sort of protection. I said if he couldn't do it I would need to take it up the chain of command if need be and also let him know I got the survey, but would wait till this issue was resolved till I sent it in. He let me know the next day they were on order and they would install it for me when they came in.

That's discouraging to hear. Can you give more detail to "awkward and ugly and the benefit so minimal?" How is it awkward? Is ugly due to the color or something more? Is the benefit more or less than the side visors on the clubman and coupe? I find the side visor very helpful on my Clubman and assume it would be just as helpful on my CM.

I fitted the visor yesterday - I flipped the visor 180 deg in its mounting so now the visor curves towards the roof
Note the metal retention clip that is on the pivot of the visor fits in either housing so there is no need to remove it from the visor
I think it looks much better and does not poke out at all - will post a picture if anyone is interested

I had a grey, cuz that's all they had at the time. I traded it for a Beige 2012 model one when they were available, but I decided not to use it.
If anyone wants to try it on a 2011, or use it for the passenger side 2012,
PM me and let me know......

Just an opinion. The 2012 R60s do come with the side visor. Arguably it is much better than having no side sun protection--but. I have had my CMs for 4 days now and I find myself wishing the visor could have extensions or some other way to fill gaps or extend coverage. Perhaps I will feel differently when i have the windows tinted. Other than that--I LOVE this car.
