Who make the best runflat tire for the mini

I know alot of Mini owners do not like the runflat tires that come standard on the R56 Mini but because I may be turning over my Mini to my teenage daughter I would like to put a set of runflats on to save her from having to change a tire on the side of the road at night or wating for tripple A to come.

What are the best runflat tires for price, performance, comfort, and quite in a runflat summer tire to be used in southern California only. The size would be 205-45-17 or 215-45-17. Thanks in advance for any sugestions.

So is it an S model?

Only a few on tirerack for under $200 each. Decent treadwear but no runflat is great per say.

Not sure if this will work but here are the options from the tirerack.com

Personally I like the Continentals. They are rather expensive but if rotated every 5K you can get 30 to 40K out of them. My wife and I both run these

In the wintertime but they will work summer and winter.

In the summer we run these

If you only want to run one set use the All Seasons. They are pretty highly rated as well.

How the heck can you get 30-40K miles from a set of tires? I'll be lucky to get 15K out of the original 050A's.

Yes I rotate them, no I don't do screaming burn out 1 wheel peels...lol But dang, this car begs for a real limited slip.... Why oh why didn't I order it???

My wife's car had 36k or so on the tires before we replaced them. We just rotated the tires every 5k like clockwork and keep the air pressure exactly where it the door sticker told us. I check the AP every Sunday. She is a 70% highway driver but she drives on the hard side.

My car had 26K on the tires and still had lots of tread on them. I traded my car into the dealer and he put it on the lot with the tires on it. I would guess they will go the same distance.

So to answer your question I can only surmise that it is AP and driving style.

I'm very happy with my Pirelli P Zero 205/40R18 and they have the 17" too. I'm at 22K and should get about another 15K out them.

I have the original Continential All-Seasons RF's and have 20,000 miles on them with 5/32nd's left. I think the Continentials are the quietest and the best riding RF's made, but I'll be switching to non-RF's within th next year.
