R60 One Year and Counting
One Year and Counting
We picked up the Countryman 8 Dec 2010 and it has been a very good year! Only one issue from new, the radio failed from day one, intermittant, and was replaced. We have slightly over 12,000 miles to date, a trip to the Black Hills, a couple trips to St Louis and another to Western New York state account for the bulk of the miles. On the road we average just under 35 mpg, in town a solid 30. The All4 system proved its worth last winter, while not exactly looking forward to snow this winter, bring it on!
We are totally satisfied, the MINI is just wonderful, gotta love the Pure Orange!

I've had Misty since early January 2011 and now with 13,000 miles no rattles or clicks. Just the initial oil change at service. I don't count the windshield replacement for the thrown rock as a fault of MINI. I love the car and get average 30 mpg overall. Only quirk is the windows that don't always go all the way down. I give them a bop on the way up and they reverse into place and behave fine for a month or two. I don't want a reprogram as I will loose the odo in the lower right window. With the early build the trim is still fine.

Glad you guys are getting such good around town mileage. Mine is only getting 21.5 so far but I only have 469 miles on it. It's nice to hear people praising the car after a year in the seat.
You guys are joking about no rattles, right? I'm going on 2 months and I'm about to call to make an appointment just to get my rattles fixed. This is my 2nd Mini and I have to say the one word I keep saying about my Countryman is "disappointing". For me, rattles are a huge detraction from a car. I have rattles in all these areas: flat load floor rattles when in the upright position, parcel tray rattles, rear seat belts rattle against the hard plastic on the side, rear cup holders rattle and the headliner rattles on rough surfaces. I would bet a 15k Japanese car is more solid than my CM. So far I've completely removed the parcel tray from my car, flipped the flat load floor down, removed the rear cup holders and shoved the rear seat belts next to the seat where the soft material is. However, whenever someone sits in the rear seat I have to fix the seat belts when they get out. I absolutely hate rattles, and am really disappointed BMW would put out a car with these inherent build/quality issues. I sure hope the dealer can fix these as they detract from my car every single time I drive it.
One thing none of you mention is which CM you have, and which tires you have. I have a S (non-All 4) with the run-flats. I himed and hawed on the tires before I ordered it and wish I would have gone with the all-season tires. Especially after reading the 4 seasons review that Automobile Magazine is doing right now. They changed out the run flats and like the car a lot more. I wish I'd seen that before I ordered my CM.

Second the motion on a POSITIVE feedback. Too much negative stuff.
I do have a question however, does anyone else notice the wiper motor is sorta loud? Not complaining, it's not that bad but it seems I just noticed it Monday while it was raining. 2007 MCS
I'm still loving my Mini and can't think of any other car that is as much fun to drive.

Very glad your experience with BIGMINI over its first year has been a good one.
CM Birthday is the 30th December
Loving the car
small niggles of course but overall quite positive - trips to my local dealer have been great
My biggest gripe I think I have just fixed - teh lack of a side sun visor
this is for the early build folks. I just fitted one from a 2012 CM - works pretty good as long as you flip it within its mounts

Took delivery on 1/21/2011 and Jack has about 13,200 miles. He just had his first service at exactly 12466 miles. I drive pretty sanitary, but not overly so. I used to obsess over gas mileage, but not any more. It seems I am getting in about 24 to 25 mpg in town and maybe 31 on the highway.
My main two complaints are those awful cup holders and the practically useless visors. I'm ambivalent about the run flats and think I might try to order the next one without them.
Otherwise, the car is a kick and I love driving it. I get a lot of compliments.

I think this proves the old axiom that most people come here to find solutions to problems or just complain.
I like it when I see positive. We need more of that.
PatM....here's your compliment. I love my 07 MCS. It's a hoot to drive and I've had very few issues with it. Also, bought it used but it was well cared for. Plan on keeping it for quite awhile.
Patm - believe me I like to be more positive than my 1st post. More than that though I like to be realistic. If nobody ever voiced any frustrations then all car companies wouldn't have much motivation to improve their product would they? Maybe you're satisfied with the status quo, but I'm not.
I picked mine up on Dec. 3rd and have 19k miles, drive it back and forth from Ft Lauderdale to Orlando often. It still gets lots of stares around town here, don't see many around town. Still lovin it, and highly recommend it.....

You going to the dealer will do more to solve future quality issues than putting forth a diatribe as you did. But it's certainly your right. But I still maintain that I like positive rather than negative as negative tires me out and wears me down.
